Yesterday, Jersey Canada members John and Marie Miller and family of Jalon Jerseys in Creemore, Ontario held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new on-farm processing venture called Miller's Dairy. They will be bottling milk from their all-Jersey herd and selling it in their local area, including Barrie, Wasaga Beach, and Collingwood. They will produce a full line of bottled milk in both glass and plastic bottles, as well as chocolate milk and fluid creams.
The Millers are being mentored by Maple Line Jerseys of Massachusetts in this venture with cooperation from Dairy Farmers Ontario under their Operation Farm Gate program.
